As the 4th of July week comes to an end its back to the daily grind for most people including myself. Do you ever stop and ask yourself what you are working for or better stated, what are we working toward? Most people will continue to do the same thing and expect different results. That is called insanity.
We were recently up in Old Forge, NY spending the 4th of July with some of our closest friends and while I was there we spent some of our time at the lake cabin that had incredible views of the lake and surrounding mountain range. The cabin was right on the water front. There was plenty of frontage for the kids to play and the water was shallow enough they could play without too much danger. My point in all of this is at that moment a dream was developed for me. I started thinking about what would be needed to make my dream a reality. Things were running through my mind like, how much would it cost, where would I buy one, would I need lake access or lake front property, mountain views, etc…. My friend put out a challenge to me and he called it the $100,000 Challenge. Sell 5 investment homes at $20,000 profit per deal. Now this does not mean I will run out and get a cabin when I reach this goal. This goal for me helped me to open my mind and to not limit myself. To figure out a way to achieve this goal and work towards my dream of owning a vacation home so my family and I can enjoy the amenities that come along with it. Dexter Yager once said, ” If the dream is big enough the facts don’t count“. I spent some time on the computer looking at cabins in the mountains with views of the rolling hills, lake front access and everything in between and I was exhausted and excited at the same time. I have plenty of obstacles in the way and other financial obligations to tend to before a cabin becomes reality but,…… the dream seed has been planted. Investment real estate is my vehicle to get me there. How fast can I get there? How fast can you get to where you want to go? Is your dream big enough? Are you willing to work hard for it and stay the course long enough to make it happen? Things will start to happen for you when you change your thought process.
