When I first moved to Memphis from Sioux Falls, SD I was a little scared and nervous as to what was to come. I was a chef for 11yrs and now I was getting involved in real estate investing in Memphis TN. Then I remember purchasing my first 2 investment properties and I was nervous then even though I had been selling them to out of state investors, it was different when it was me buying. Now I own over 11 rental properties and things are going well but now I am starting to get a little itch to step it up a little. I have slowly started to look at small multifamily apartments. The price points are much higher and the risk is larger and I honestly have no idea how I would finance something like this. I still have plenty of research to do but know this is something I would like to get into in the near future.
My point in the first part of this blog is that many people want to become real estate investors to either wholesale or buy and hold. Many become so overwhelmed they are almost paralyzed to make the first move. I try to remind people that this is a ” team sport ” meaning even the most successful people rely on others to make their experience successful, no one does this alone and lives to tell about it!! Weather your just purchasing your first real estate investing book or buying your first apartment complex, at some point along the line you decided to take it to the next level and in doing so with the right attitude, guidance and team you were able to succeed. Time to step it up!
